Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)

Becoming A Catholic (RCIA)

What is RCIA?

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a programme for adults who want to become full members of the Catholic Church. The programme is open to anyone, of any denomination or none, whether or not they are baptised Christians who want to explore what it means to be a Catholic.

What does the programme involve?

The RCIA group provides a structured and supportive environment for those seeking to enter or return to the Catholic Church. The group follows a comprehensive program, typically spanning several weeks, where individuals explore Catholic teachings, traditions, and rituals. Participants engage in prayer, study Scripture, and attend liturgical celebrations to deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith.

The ultimate goal is to welcome new members into the full communion of the Catholic Church, nurturing a sense of belonging and a commitment to a life of faith.

The RCIA team runs a series of weekly sessions beginning in September each year, running until Easter. Please contact the parish office for more details.
